GulfRun5
GulfRun5: 5 events, 50 cars and 55 drivers.
A series of events are planned before the final attraction of GulfRun5 in Bahrain. The first being at the carwash to get washed, waxed and ready for sponsor stickers to be applied. GulfRun5 launched in Al-Falah Carwash in Mid-January with over 50 participating race cars lined up preparing for the upcoming two weeks.
Next stop, the 360 Mall: The participating race cars were on display, drawing in crowds of families, motorsport fanatics, and the press. Another reason to attend was to support a good cause, as this year’s GulfRun raised money for the Hayat4Cancer Charity by holding a raffle. Two limited-edition Vespa motorcycles were customized to represent the 5th year for GulfRun; and 9460KD generated from the raffle were donated to the Charity. This initiative highlighted GulfRun’s collective dedication to raise social awareness with an emphasis on social responsibility.
After the Car Show, the race cars headed to the Bahrain International Circuit for 3 days of thrilling competitions. GulfRun5 was back with many exciting elements from previous years. Over fifty cars took part in 5 events at the Bahrain International circuit consisting of Autocross time attack, Quartermile Drag, GP Circuit Race, Inner Circuit Race and Drift competition. There was a large range of participating cars from the exotic Porsche Carrera GT, Mercedes SLR, and Lamborghini LP640 to the track-worthy Caterham G7, KTM X-Bow, and Lotus 2-11. GulfRun5 delivered a safe and exhilarating venue for car racing enthusiasts at the Bahrain International Circuit yet again.
GulfRun5 wouldn’t have been possible without the tremendous support of Kuwait’s private sector. A support that ranges in classification from Title sponsorship by Wataniya Telecom, Platinum Sponsorship by Agility, Dent Xpress, Consolidated Contractors Company and Wataniya Airways, Gold sponsorship by Slider Station, Al-Sawan Co. and CreditOne.
